Building the Foundations of Renewed Trust

G7 summit

13.02.17 – The Italian G7 Presidency has launched the official website for the forthcoming G7 Summit, taking place on the 26 – 27 May.

Climate Change – The New Economy (CCTNE), the leading and only climate change publication supporting the G7 Summit will be distributing its G7 Edition globally and via official channels, at the Taormina Summit in Sicily, Italy.

Faced with the challenge of citizens’ increasing scepticism on their governments’ abilities to deliver on a wide range of issues affecting their daily lives, the Italian G7 Presidency will focus its agenda on three main pillars.

Environmental and Social Sustainability are prioritized in the 2nd pillar and will deliver on the application of the Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development as well as leveraging the outcome of the UNFCCC Paris Agreement. In addition to climate change, this key pillar of G7 policy will also be addressing the critical subjects of energy policy, food security and health.

CCTNE’s key role in promoting independent and informed discussion on issues related to climate change, is underpinned by innovation technology. We therefore welcome the G7’s efforts in promoting innovation as a catalyst for worldwide prosperity and inclusive growth.

Looking to ensure the strongest possible engagement with the stakeholders of innovation, we look forward to the pursuit of an orderly and fair transition towards the Next Production Revolution.

CCTNE and its industry stakeholders* urge the G7 to take action to realize the objectives set by the Paris agreement and deliver on their post-2020 targets whilst encouraging others to do the same.
