Consumer product manufacturers are increasingly factoring in climate change in their business planning, according to new research by the non-profit group CDP. Sixteen major companies were surveyed, to reveal that many are working to lower carbon emissions, anticipate global warming on the manufacturing process and respond to increased awareness from consumer and legislators.
The study suggests that European companies are ahead of US rivals in their preparedness. This reflects the situation in other sectors, such as engineering.
