Our COP 20 Publication

By William Schaper, Global Head of Research

Climate Change the New Economy (CCTNE) is proud to announce the release of our COP 20 edition ahead of this year’s summit in Lima, Peru.

Our goal is to foster informed discussion between global stakeholders on “big picture” issues regarding climate change, including:

  • Strengthening the growth of The Green Climate Fund.
  • Advancing the increasing number of parties that have accepted the second commitment period of the Kyoto Protocol.
  • Encouraging global mass mobilization for action on climate change.
  • Generating a positive, concrete outcome from the momentum of political will generated from the recent UN Secretary-General’s Climate Summit.

In the publication’s Opening Remarks, Global Business Development Director, James D. Butler, emphasizes CCTNE’s hopes for measurable action on climate change as an outcome from this year’s COP conference:

“Let COP 20 go down as a decisive turning point in the transition to the New Economy, safeguarding the remainder of the 21st century and beyond, for our children and our children’s children.”
