Side events in the Blue Zone, a space managed by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) will be approved in line with UNFCCC procedures.
Those wanting to run side-events should visit the website of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in the corresponding timeframes.
Side events in the different pavilions will each have their own application process. The pavilions are areas reserved for some of the Parties to the UNFCCC and organizations accredited by the UNFCCC to present and generate discussion on different key focuses of climate action.
For the first time, Chile has chosen to have a pavilion in the Blue Zone, where our country will organize a series of side events to stimulate the debate on different key areas of climate action, and will make announcements within the framework of long-term climate strategy.
Any accredited organization presenting a proposal of climate action content can apply to run a side event in the Chile Pavilion. Preference will be given to those that align with other domestic and foreign stakeholders (e.g. public sector / organized civil society / academia / private sector etc) to guarantee that the event is as representative as possible of the chosen topic. Applications can be made in Spanish or English in this form, and will be received until Wednesday 25th September 2019. Results of the application process will be announced in the first week of October.
